Turning POints in history - THE IMPORTANCE OF World War Two

Never was so much..

During terms 3-4, Eagle class are exploring key events in Britain between 1939 and 1945, and the impact of WWII on Europe. They are learning from a number of primary and secondary sources of historical information, for example Pathe news reports, photographs, letters, historical documents and non-fiction books.

Whilst their learning focuses particularly on life in Britain, they start by looking at Europe after WW1 and events that led to the Second World War. Studies include looking at key points in the war, in order to have a chronological understanding of important events. They will also consider ways that WWII shaped the map of Europe and life for nations after the war. At the end of this study, the class will be considering and writing about the importance of WW2 as a turning point in our history..
