Headteacher's Welcome
Firstly, I wanted to introduce myself, my name is Mark Pollard and I am the Headteacher of High Hurstwood CE Primary School. I am delighted to be appointed as the new Headteacher of High Hurstwood and started the role in January 2022. I am very passionate about education and my aim is to give each child a variety of experiences during their time at High Hurstwood.
My background is in Primary Education and I have taught across primary age range over my fifteen years as a class teacher. In this time, I have taught in a variety of size schools from village schools, one-form entry primaries to large 3-form entry primary schools. I have a wealth of knowledge from these experiences to draw upon.
At High Hurstwood we believe that every child is given the opportunity to flourish to achieve their potential. We give children a broad curriculum and give them a range of memorable experiences. This is based on 'Life in all its fullness' (John 10:10 ).
We work in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community to ensure the success of our children. We believe that children deserve the best possible chances in life and that they learn best when there are strong links between home and school. Our School motto encompasses these points: Belong, Enjoy and Excel.
We are a friendly, caring school with high expectations for all our pupils. Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. This is underpineed by our school values of Belief, Curosity, Kindness and Resilience.
I hope you enjoy finding out more about our school by browsing our website. School visits are encouraged and are welcomed; we would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school. Please contact the School Office to make an appointment.
